Aadhaar card holders can update their address as long as they have consented to the verification that the address verifyer. An address verifier can be a friend, relative, landlord or family member that allows the Aadhaar card user to utilize their address as proof.

UIDAI is now stopping this feature. UIDAI addressed an Aadhaar Card user by tweeting the capability to change the address on Aadhaar Card through an Address Validation Certificate was canceled. UIDAI has requested its Aadhaar provider to alert the user that they can update their address using a current PoA document.
